Rumi

Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī or simply Rumi was a 13th century persian mystic,poet and theologian.
Rumi’s importance is considered to transcend national and ethnic borders. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world’s languages and transposed into various formats. In 2007, he was described as the “most popular poet in America.”
Rumi’s works are written in Persian and his Mathnawi remains one of the purest literary glories of Persia, and one of the crowning glories of the Persian language.
Rumi is one of the person who keeps me inspiring through his quotes and poems.
and i think he can inspire you too,so i am posting some of his quotes here which are my favorites.

THE POWER OF WORD

In every religion the power of the word is recognized,so much that in some of them creation itself is said to have come out of the word.The external aspect of the thought of the god is the word,and as god thought and willed before the creation came out of the word.
Apart from the higher philosophic and religious value of the word,we may see that sound symbols play a prominent part in play of human life.
Someone talking to you,he is not touching you ,the pulsation of the air caused by his speaking go into your ear, they touch your nerves and produce effect in your mind.You can not resist it.Isn’t it wonderful.
Someone calls you a fool, you stand and slaps on his face.Suppose you are in trouble and felling miserable then one of your friend comes to you and he shares some inspiring stories with you and tell you some words of wisdom and from that point you start felling good, motivated.This is the power of word.
So from now whenever you are talking to anyone keep in mind the power of word.If you will say good words they will produce a good effect and that effect will help you to become a noble person.The opposite is also true if you will use bad words in your conversation the will produce a bad effect on you as well as on the person with whom your talking.
The words are great forces in higher philosophy as well as in common life.And these forces are very much responsible for your success,failure and most important your character.

We have the power to make ourselves

The great indian monk swami vivekananda had explained the secret and power of work in his complete work.In a chapter on work he had written the following lines.
No one can get anything until he earns it.this is an eternal law.We may sometimes think it is not so,but in the long run we become convinced of it.A man may struggle all his life for riches ; he may cheat thousands ,but he finds at last that he does not deserve to become rich, and his life become a trouble and nuisance to him.. We may go on accumulating things for our physical enjoyment , but only what we earn is really ours. A fool may buy all the books in the world , and they will be in his library ; but he will be able to read only those which he deserves to ; and this deserving is produced by work.
Our work determines what we deserve and what we can assimilate. We are responsible for what we are ; and whatever we wish ourselves to be , we have the power to make our-selves.
What we are now is the result of our past actions , it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions.
You must remember that all work is simply to bring out the power of the mind which is already there , to wake up the soul.The power is inside every man, so is knowing ; the different works are like blows to bring them out , to cause these giants to wake up.

Agnosticism the best way to practice irreligion in absence of proof

The Nasadiya Sukta is the 129th hymn of the Rigveda it is concerned with cosmology and the origin of the universe it is known for its skepticism it ends with:

Who really knows? Who shall declare it here?
Whence was it born? Whence issued this creation?
Even the Gods came after its emergence.
Then who can tell from whence it came to be?
None knows when creation has arisen;
Whether He made it or did not make it,
He who surveys it in the highest heaven,
Only He knows, or maybe even He knows not.

An Agnostic person is one who believes that”humans can not know if there god exists or not” .Till today there are not any strong proofs of existence of god.Hence anyone can say he is atheist but if an atheist is unable to prove the non existence of god then he’s also in the category of agnostic.Similarly if any theist who believes in god is unable to prove the existence of god is also in the category of agnostic.
I personally see Agnosticism as the middle way between atheism and theism.We can temporarily declare ourselves as agnostic till we have a strong proof about existence or non existence of god but a permanent agnosticism is not a right way to practice religion.
Similarly a permanent belief in atheism,theism or any other branch of religion is also not a correct way.
In our whole life we should first choose any logical religious belief and then if we get any reasonable proof about it then only we should believe in that particular branch of religion.And if you are not have any proof about any god or religion then simply declare your self as an Agnostic.

STRUGGLE FOR EXISTENCE

“Whosoever comes to me,through whatsoever form,i reach him;all men are struggling through paths which in the end leads to me.”-Bhagvat Gita

Every element which exists in nature looks to complete its configuration or i can say to acquire stability.If an element have not completed its electronic configuration it cant exist in nature.
We humans are made up of these elements only and we too show similar property to acquire stability.Each of us struggles for his existence. By existence i mean someone own identity,his own achievements,success,abilities.Each of us who live in this competitive world each individual wants to make his own identity and wants to prove himself in front of this world.
When someone have proved himself in this world then he exists in this world and when something exists we know him by his works.Such a person who has proved himself is successful.
But this stability will not come easily to live or exist in this word you will have to struggle and this struggling periods of your life will teach you the lessons of life if you will learn them successfully your chances of existence will increase and sooner or later you will be able to make your own identity and when you have acquired stability at that moment you will exist in this mighty universe.

DESIRE

Desire can be explained as the want of any person in his life,and that can be anything depending on the person.Almost every person living on the earth has some desire in his heart and if anyone who is able to fulfill his desire can be considered as a successful person.Most of us think that any one who has money or fame or have achieved what he wants is a successful person .Which is wrong a person who lives only for his own benefits can’t be a successful person.On the other hand if a person is unselfish and who cares for others can be considered as a successful person,no matter he has money, fame or not.Anything which leads us towards truth and makes us a better person is our duty and if we are able to complete that duty we are successful and we are true human beings.
If there is desire there will be misery and moments of failure and the person who has desired any thing in life will have to face the misery.A person who has no desire or dreams will not face misery or sadness and in any situation his behaviour will be same.Such a person is like a stone and no body cares about him.So it is better to have some positive aims and desire in life.But what about the failure,sadness,misery we face in the path which leads to our aim.
Giving up just because of the fear of failure or misery is not the solution.The only solution is a strong fight against this fear.
So take the responsibility on your shoulders and say “what ever be the situation good or worst i will not quit” and and continue your journey on the road which leads you to your desire,your dream.

Indomitable spirit by APJ Abdul kalam

I was swimming in the sea,
Waves came one after the other
I was swimming and swimming to reach my destination.
But one wave, a powerful wave, overpowered me;
It took me along in its own direction,
I was pulled long and along.
When I was about to lose amidst the sea wave power,
One thought flashed to me, yes, that is courage
Courage to reach my goal, courage to defeat the powerful force and succeed;
With courage in my mind, indomitable spirit engulfed me,
With indomitable spirit in mind and action,
I regained lost confidence
I can win, win and win
Strength came back to me, overpowered the sea wave
I reached the destination, my mission.

Dr.A.P.J. Abdul kalam is former president of india and a well known scientist in the field of missile technology and honoured by many awards.
he written this poem for the people who are struggling and working hard in their respective fields.

The Aim of Life

When a teacher asks a question to his students.
What is your aim in life?
Most probably he gets different answers from different students and every student wants to achieve what he wants or likes.And anyone can say that every person has a different aim in his life.
But i don’t think so, though the answer vary from person to person the aim of every individuals life is same but the path chosen by every person to achieve his aim is different and that aim is happiness because whatever he do in his life he do it just because it makes him happy.
Every individual roams here and there in this world just in search of happiness or i can say for peace.You can only have a peace of mind only when you are happy.And you will have happiness only when you will do what you love.The Alchemy have taught me a great fact that “Every thing in this world is the manifestation of only one thing only”.In case of our aim that one fundamental thing is happiness.
If you want to achieve your aim in life you should do what you love or what makes you happy.The moment you stop listening to yourself at that moment you are not following your heart and you will not be able achieve your aim.Because from that moment you will not be happy.
If you are not clear about your aim in life just remember that your aim is happiness and do what you love you will achieve your aim in life.

But happiness is our aim in life is what people may think.The Hinduism teaches us that the aim of a persons life should not be happiness or pleasure but Knowledge.Pleasure and happiness comes to an end.It is a mistake to suppose that pleasure or happiness is the goal.Humans thinks happiness or pleasure to be their aim and they expect something everywhere which in return gives them miseries and sadness.

In today’s world most of the people expect good result for whatever they do which is the main cause of their miseries the failure teaches us and we should forget about the result.Whatever be the result of efforts we will do our work that should be the thought in  humans mind.

Aristotle-the most synthetic thinker in the history of thought

The most synthetic thinker in the history of thougt, tutor of king of kings Alexander the great,the master who gave science to mankind is Aristotle.
He was born in 384 B.C. in the town of stagira,in north east of Greece.Aristotle’s father was a wealthy man of his time as he was the physician and friend of Macedonian king and Alexanders grandfather Amyntas.Aristotle spend most of money to buy manuscripts and he turned his house into a library.Hence Plato called Aristotle’s house “the house of the reader”.In 367 B.C. Aristotle moved south to Athens and this movement of Aristotle towards Athens was just because of the Plato.There he joined the circle of Philosophers,Mathematicians and Politicians under Plato’s leadership.And established him self as an industrious student,a vigorous polemicist ans an independent thinker.
In 343 B.C. king of Macedonia and Alexanders father Philip called Aristotle to tutor his son and this was the moment when this great teacher met with his great student.When Aristotle met Alexander he was a wild youth of thirteen and passionate,epileptic,almost alcoholic.Aristotle taught him the art of living.In a letter to Aristotle,Alexander said,”Foe my part i had rather excel in the knowledge of what is good than in the extent of my power and dominion”.
After tutoring Alexander Aristotle returned to his native place Stagira.In 335 B.C. he went south again to Athens ,where he set up his own school at the Lyceum.And there he explored and taught the entire field of human knowledge-logic,metaphysics,ethics,theology,politics,history,aesthetics,psychology,zoology,botany,anatomy,astronomy,meteorology and ancient equivalents of physics and chemistry. The data gathered by Aristotle and his assistants in the academy became the groundwork of progress of science.We can say it the text book of knowledge for thousand years and this was nothing less than a miracle.Some ancient authors credit him with hundreds of volums some with thousands.But what remains is just a part of that great work but still it is a library in itself.This work of Aristotle and his assistants contains almost every field of study.But the philosophical work is the most famous which contains ethics,politics and metaphysics.This great work contains many great errors too.Unlike his tutor Plato,Aristotle given us many scientific words instead of philosophic words few of them are energy,end ,principle,form,maxim,faculty,mean,category,actuality,motive.
In his meta physics Aristotle says-every thing in the world is moved by an inner urge to become something greater than it is.Everything is both the form or reality which has grown out of something which was its matter or raw material,and it may in turn be the matter out of which still higher forms will grow.So the the man is the form of which the child was the matter,the child is the form and its embryo the matter ,the embryo the form ,the ovum the matter,and so back till we reach in a vague way the conception of matter with out form at all.But such a formless matter would be nothing,for every thing has a form.Matter in its widest sense is the possibility of form,form is the actuality,the finished reality of matter.Matter obstructs,form constructs.Form is not merely the shape but the shapping force.,an inner necessity and impulse which moulds mere material to a specific figure and purpose,it is the realisation of a potential capacity of matter ,it is the sum of powers residing in anything to do,to be ,or to become.Nature is the conquest of matter by form,the constant progression and victory of life.
Like the metaphysics Aristotle had wrote in many other fields like biology,ethics etc. and every work of aristotle is a triumph and by refering these works by Aristotle and his assistants the science started growing.However every part of the earth had his own philosophers of whom individual works are also useful in development of science but most of the works of those other great men are lost hence they are not  highlighted as other philosophers.
In 323 B.C. Alexander died and athens went wild with joy the macedonian party was over thrown and Athenian independence was proclaimed.Aristotle felt him self unsafe in Athens and he left Athens saying that he would not give Athens a chance to sin a second time against philosophy.Few months after leaving Athens in 322 B.C. our lonely philosopher died.But his legacy is still with us.

Who stood beside him closer than the rest.

DREAM

Albert einstein dreamed of a body travelling with the speed of light and after his hard work he developed the theory of relativity.
Wright brothers dreamed of a flying machine and they came with the discovery of airplane.
similar to these there are many stories of dreamers who followed there dream and lived them.
so the dreams are the things which help you to realise your destiny and your reason to born on the earth and the life is generous to those who follow there dreams.

But to dream of any thing is only the begining and to turn them into reality you have to be awake.
